From Rwanda to Carleton-sur-Mer, 42,000 lbs arrive there directly from Africa

Carleton, December 18, 2012. –

The management of the Brûlerie du Quai (BDQ) group announces the arrival tomorrow on December 19, 2012, in the morning, from 1st coffee “container” resulting from its Direct Purchasing approach with a producer from East Africa, more precisely from Rwanda, Kirehe district. The lot consisting of 320 bags of 132lbs will be discharged between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. This coffee, a arabica of the Bourbon bleu variety specific to Rwanda, is considered a of the best in the world.

We invite you to come and attend this important event for the company.

This outcome is the fruit of nearly 5 years of work and is intended to be an extension of the company's mission to work fairly with coffee producers by carrying out purchases without any intermediary.

All import procedures were carried out by the Brûlerie du Quai team which holds an import/export license with the Canadian border agency.

This coffee will help consolidate the supply in raw materials and to protect the company from fluctuations in price of coffee, considered a commodity by the market stock market. This way of doing things is essential given the evolution of the company and the growth of its network of café-boutiques.

Rwandan coffee will gradually appear in our branches, on the online store and at our customers' premises in new packaging from early January
