Description
Mount Elgon is a massive peak almost bisected by the border between Uganda and Kenya. The mountain itself, now an extinct shield volcano, is instead a huge expanse of successive plateaus that float dramatically above the surrounding valley floor. It's also home to a dense gathering of farming communities that cultivate some of Africa's finest organic coffees.
Harvested only when the cherries are perfectly pigmented and ripe. They are then brought to the Mountain Harvest factory, where all the coffee cherries are brought together to undergo natural processing.
Its profile is sweet, juicy, and fruity. There are lovely berry notes such as strawberry and blackberry, plus a touch of caramel, and vanilla with a blend of citrus and plum. And at the top of the bouquet, Mount Elgon features the iconic African note of black tea.
