Ingredients needed

— 20 g of coffee beans
— 200 g of milk of your choice
25 g of quality white chocolate (like Bassan)
12 g white chocolate powder
Homemade or spray whipped cream

    the 5 stages of preparation

hand holding a coffee porta filter with ground espresso coffee

    1. prepare the espresso

Start by extracting a hot, rich, full-bodied espresso from your favorite coffee machine. The coffee will serve as a base and balance the sweetness of the white chocolate.

    1. Grind the coffee: Use 20g of freshly ground coffee for optimal extraction. Ideally, choose a washed or honey process coffee for a clean, smooth flavor profile that’s perfect for pairing with white chocolate.

    2. Machine Preparation: Preheat your espresso machine. Make sure the portafilter is clean and preheated.

    3. Tamping the coffee: Place the ground coffee in the filter holder and tamp it evenly with firm, even pressure.

    4. Extraction: Insert the filter holder into the espresso machine and start the extraction.

    2. heat the milk

Use the steam nozzle of your espresso machine to froth and heat the milk.

    1. prepare the milk : Pour fresh milk into a stainless steel pitcher until one-third to one-half full.

    2. purge the nozzle : Before starting, briefly open the steam nozzle to remove condensation.

    3. Lather : Place the nozzle just below the surface of the milk and turn on the steam. Add air, creating a slight hissing sound for 3 to 5 seconds.

    4. heat : Immerse the nozzle a little more to heat the milk by creating a whirlpool. Stop when the pitcher becomes too hot to touch.

    5. Finishing : Tap and swirl the pitcher to smooth the foam.

Tip: Clean the nozzle immediately to avoid any milk deposits.

    3. Melt the white chocolate

In a bain-marie, gently melt the 25 g of white chocolate with a little hot milk. Mix until you obtain a smooth and shiny texture.

    4. Assemble your white mocha

In a heatproof cup or glass, mix the heated milk, cocoa powder and chocolate and then pour it all into the cup. Then pour the hot espresso on top. Stir gently to harmonize the flavors.

Top your drink with a generous dollop of whipped cream. Place a white chocolate chip on top for an elegant (and delicious) decoration.

Tips for a perfect white mocha

To make the perfect white mocha, start by choosing one of our freshly roasted coffees and grind it just before extraction to preserve all the flavours. Washed or honey-processed coffees are particularly suitable, providing clean, balanced profiles that pair beautifully with the subtle sweetness of white chocolate.

Opt for a high-quality white chocolate, such as Bassan, to avoid excess sugar or artificial flavour. This attention to detail ensures a gourmet and refined experience with every sip.

      Why adopt white mocha?

White mocha is a festive drink that transforms a simple coffee into a luxurious experience. Whether for a solace moment on your own or to impress your loved ones, this recipe is as easy to make as it is delicious.

So what are you waiting for to start preparing this caffeinated wonder?

Grab a cup, your favorite white chocolate, and enjoy that little moment of happiness with every sip.
