producer
Oscar Tinoco Madrid, a third-generation coffee farmer, grew up surrounded by coffee. In 2004, he acquired the “Pino de Oro” farm from his father. Located in the Santa Bárbara Mountains, the farm was isolated, without roads, electricity or water supply. Oscar revitalized the farm in 2008 and, in 2011, won the Cup of Excellence (COE) in his second participation. This victory allowed him to pay for the rest of the land and build roads connecting the farm to the neighboring city. Four years ago, he began planting the geisha variety, which earned him fourth place in this year’s Cup of Excellence.
process
After harvest, coffee cherries are spread out on sun-drying beds and turned regularly for even drying. This process allows the cherries to dry with their pulp, infusing the beans with unique sweet and fruity notes. Once dry, the cherries are hulled to remove the dry skin.
profile
Geisha Naturally Processed Coffee offers a vibrant, floral flavor profile. Initial notes of jasmine, hibiscus, and rose blend harmoniously with accents of strawberry, lychee, and mandarin. Hints of peach, lemongrass, honeydew melon, and white grape add a delicate, balanced sweetness.
