Description

Desalegn Abebe Adela, a 45-year-old coffee farmer and father of five, owns a 1.54-hectare coffee farm in Kebele Tulu Gola, Woreda Nansebo, located in the West Arsi zone of Ethiopia's Oromia region. He mainly grows the 74112 coffee variety, which he processes into natural dry coffee. Inspired by other participants from his region who have won prizes at Ethiopia's Cup of Excellence in recent years, Desalegn decided to enter this competition for the best coffee in 2021 too. Since then, he has gradually climbed the ladder from no winning entry in 2021 to 21st place this year with his natural 74112 rated at 88.06 points!

Desalegn 88 offers a complex, sweet cup. It begins with the note of peach and plum, which then transforms into a tea with explosive flavors of berries and flowers. There's a pinch of cinnamon, sugar, and chocolate in the aftertaste, with a citrus zest acidity that's a classic Ethiopian note.
