Ethiopia Coffee - Harrar

Grown in the historic Harari region, this natural coffee comes from one of the oldest Arabica-growing areas in the world. Hand-harvested by a number of small, high-altitude producers, it grows on well-drained volcanic soils. These ideal conditions favour slow ripening of the fruit and a dense, structured and deeply distinctive aromatic development.

Roasting approach

Medium profile Optimized for espresso, a precise curve aimed at developing balanced structure and aromatic expression.

Sensory profile

Full-bodied cup, moderate acidity, dominated by aromas of raw cocoa and dark chocolate. Cedar adds a dry woody note, while blueberry adds a fruity nuance on the finish. Dense body, long finish.

Ethiopian Coffee

Since my trip to this country in 2001, I haven't been able to find a bean that's superior to it. Yet, few roasteries offer it. So I thank Dany and Brûlerie du quai for their excellent product.

wonderful coffee

I am a good coffee drinker, I think, a liter a day, before discovering the Brûlerie du quai. I drank Mccafe and Costco coffee, until the day I discovered that Mcdo used salt as a flavor enhancer. So I can't wait to go online and discover a roaster that offered different coffees. The Brûlerie du quai, so from that day on I drink HARRAR during the week and coffee from the roaster's selection on the weekend (program unfortunately suspended) but I must thank Dany and all the team for having introduced me for almost 5 years to wonderful and delicious coffees from all over the world. To come back to Harrar, it is the perfect coffee to experiment and follow Dany's advice eg: grinding, temperature, brewing method and finally in espresso for me it is the perfect coffee. Thank you again for offering it to us.
